McDonald’s USA Expands Test of Krispy Kreme Doughnuts to Approximately 160 Louisville-Lexington Restaurants

Get a bite of this… next month, McDonald’s is bringing Krispy Kreme doughnuts to even more local restaurants with an expanded market test. Starting March 21, McDonald’s will be serving three Krispy Kreme fan faves – the Original Glazed Doughnut, the Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles Doughnut and the Chocolate Iced Kreme™ Filled Doughnut – at approximately 160 locations across Louisville, Lexington and the surrounding area.

The expanded test will help us learn more about operational impact on a larger scale as well as explore customer demand. And this time around, there are even more ways for fans to satisfy their Krispy Kreme craving, with doughnuts available all day in-restaurant, at the Drive Thru, via McDelivery and on the McDonald’s App.

They’ll only be here for a limited time, while supplies last – so run, dough-nut walk to your nearest participating McDonald’s to get a taste.

McDonald’s USA Serving Krispy Kreme Doughnuts at Nine Louisville Area Restaurants During Limited-Time Test

Things are about to get sweeter for fans in Derby City. McDonald’s is beginning a small operations test of select Krispy Kreme doughnuts at nine restaurants in Louisville and the surrounding area.

McDonald’s is serving up three of Krispy Kreme’s most popular treats:

  • The Original Glazed Doughnut: a melt-in-your-mouth doughnut covered in Krispy Kreme’s signature glaze. The doughnut that started it all.
  • The Chocolate Iced with Sprinkles Doughnut: a chocolate-y twist on the Original, hand-dipped in chocolate icing and covered in rainbow sprinkles.
  • The Raspberry Filled Doughnut: glazed and filled with a sweet, yet tangy raspberry jelly. A classic fan-favorite.

The doughnuts will be available all day, in-restaurant and drive thru only, at participating test locations while supplies last. Customers can order them individually or enjoy six packs of the Original Glazed or a variety of flavors. And the best part? In true Krispy Kreme fashion, they’ll be delivered fresh daily to restaurants.

McDonald’s is always looking for ways to give the fans more of what they crave, and McDonald’soften conduct tests to inform future menu decisions. This small-scale test will help us understand how offering new bakery items like Krispy Kreme could impact operations in the restaurants.

So go ahead, Louisville – it’s time to try a Krispy Kreme doughnut with your fav McCafé coffee order. McDonald’s can’t think of a better way to start your morning… or afternoon… or evening…
