New Castrol magnatec marketing campaign emphasizes engine protection features and potential increased revenue opportunities for workshops

Castrol has launched a new marketing campaign as part of a major drive to promote and increase awareness of Castrol MAGNATEC lubricants across the UK. The campaign will run until June 2023, and will help to draw attention to how MAGNATEC meets a wide range of OEM specifications, offering enhanced value to both car owners, drivers and workshops.

A significant 15.7 million cars manufactured by mainstream OEMs across the UK, equivalent to 39.9% of the country’s car parc1, can be serviced using just five MAGNATEC products. Specifying MAGNATEC as a primary lubricant choice makes it easier for workshops to manage lubricant stocks and ensure suitability for a high proportion of vehicles, including  Citroen, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Kia, Peugeot, Toyota and Vauxhall cars.

Castrol’s micro-marketing teams are now visiting car workshops across the country to explain the key benefits of MAGNATEC and the multi-faceted engine protection it offers.

In addition, the campaign includes a new marketing toolkit that has been specially created to help distributors and workshops introduce and promote Castrol MAGNATEC to their customers. Utilising a striking MAGNATEC ‘Case’ master image, the new assets include brochures and wallcharts to help mechanics select the right oil for the right engine, along with email templates, posters, roll-up banners, stickers and other displays designed to increase customers’ awareness about the importance of protecting their car from engine wear and tear, and how MAGNATEC can help them achieve this.  Media, digital marketing, and social media communication will also drive customer traffic to a dedicated landing page providing more detailed information about the Castrol MAGNATEC range and its various features and benefits.

Road congestion has increased dramatically over recent years, and a typical driver can stop and start up to 18,000 times a year3, a process that can cause wear and slowly damage a car’s engine. Castrol MAGNATEC features DUALOCK molecules that cling to critical engine parts and lock together, forming a powerful force-field of protection that dramatically reduces both engine warm-up and stop-start wear by 50%2.
